Information for Churches
Our Heavenly Father has commanded us to take care or orphans because a child without parents is naked in the world, and if not rescued, will perish. Children cannot thrive in institutions. Food, clothing, shelter and treats from the outside world are not enough. Counselling is not enough. Being taught the Gospel is not enough. Institutions will never be the places of love, nurture and strong relationships that lead to positive life outcomes. Children only thrive in families….this is God’s design.
4,000 children are waiting to be rescued and given a chance to experience the abundant life in Christ that God intends for them. Foster care and adoption are their only hope. Being raised in Christian families will give them a chance to experience God’s love and the true meaning of the Gospel. He wants us to suffer the little children to come unto Him. It is through our love, care, embrace, training and moulding that they will find Him.
How can churches become involved?
- Encourage members of your congregation and other Christians to become foster parents
- Allow our Foster Care Ambassadors to make presentations in your church to spread awareness of the programme and the need to foster children. Presentations can be requested here
- Pray for children in institutions and that the Lord will provide Christian families for them
- Support foster and adoptive families within your congregation, especially those headed by single females
- Raise special offerings to make donations to the FTC programme
