Our Partnerships

A partnership was forged between Family Life Ministries, the Child Protection and Family Services Agency and Nairn Family Homes to achieve the goal of providing therapeutic family environments for children

The Child Protection and Family Services Agency (CPFSA)

The Child Protection and Family Services Agency (CPFSA) was formed out of a merger of the Child Development Agency and the Office of the Children’s Registry.

CPFSA is the Executive Agency of the Government of Jamaica with responsibility for children who are in need of care and protection or who are at risk of becoming in need of care and protection.

In fulfilling this mandate CPFSA:

  1. Provides care for children in the guardianship of the State;
  2. Promotes the best interests of children;
  3. Promotes the home environment as best suited for children;
  4. Advocates for the protection of children from abuse; and
  5. Advises on policy and legal issues relating to children

The CPFSA provides oversight for the programme and guides FLM through the nuances of executing a foster care programme.

Family Life Ministries is implementing the FTC Programme through a Service Agreement with the CPFSA.

Testimonials

What Our Parents
have to say

When I saw his photo for the first time I said, “This is my son!” It is wonderful to know that I can make a life-changing impact on a child’s life. The journey takes patience, but when my son says, “Mummy, mi love you,” my heart just wants to burst

Rachel Davidson, Foster Parent

This is one of the best decisions that I have ever made! When you foster a child, you impact the next generation. You could be molding a future great contributor to society who would otherwise have become a burden to society. It is such a joy to watch my son transform from being shy, withdrawn child displaying so many symptoms of stress and trauma to becoming a happy, loving child. I decided to do this to bless him, but I am being so blessed in the process. This parenting journey has brought new joy to my life

Pamela Douglas, Foster Parent

At first I was hesitant about fostering our daughter. However, she has taught us so much and brought us so much joy. We would encourage anyone to foster a child as this is beneficial to both the children and parents
